Welcome to ATA Martial Arts Jonesboro – a family-operated martial arts school that’s served Jonesboro, Arkansas for over a decade! In the spirit of being family-run, everything we do is family-oriented. Our academy is a place where people can hang out, have fun, and get to work. Students can come in to learn self-defense for bully prevention, get in shape, or focus on competing in a caring environment with support instructors. We believe in the power of training hard no matter why you are here. By doing so, you’ll gain confidence, life skills, discipline, respect, and the will to never give up. Our School
Everyone at our martial arts academy is treated as a part of our family. When you walk you, you enter a positive atmosphere that keeps students engaged and motivated. Students are taught to follow the phrase “Kaizen” meaning continuous improvement. This applies for all aspects of life. Whether it’s on the mat in competitions, at home, personally, bullying at school, etc., we continuously encourage you to work hard, not give up, and be your best. This supportive energy carries onward to supporting our world-traveled competitors and in our special events. Whether it’s a holiday party, summer camp, Mother’s/Father’s Day Training or Parent’s Night Out, make the most of your day! History
The history of ATA Martial Arts Jonesboro has followed our belief in working hard, never giving up, and seeking Kaizen – continuous improvement. We started hosting our martial arts classes in 2014 at the local community center. Since then, Francisco and Mariela Baez have taken over the school from Francisco’s family, we’ve moved twice, and have now settled in our expanded, upgraded facility in 2022. For both Francisco and Mariela, martial arts and Taekwondo training has been a big part of their lives. Francisco is a third-generation martial artist, starting when he was two years old in Paraguay. The lifelong competitor has taken home four ATA World Titles. Francisco’s competitive experience and knowledge is complimented by Mariela’s 17 years of training and a degree in Early Childhood Education. Together, alongside the entire ATA Martial Arts Jonesboro community, our school has become a place for kids, women, competitors, and everyone else can call their home for martial arts!

Whether you are looking to sign up your kids to learn discipline and respect, are looking to compete, or just want to improve your lifestyle, it is all here in our school!
Our entire goal is to provide a home for families to train in martial arts in Jonesboro. As well as detailed, exciting instruction, we also bring the community together with a tight-knit culture cultivated through personal relationships, social gatherings, special events, and more!
The two things we teach every student is respect and discipline. From our 3-year-olds to our adults, it’s important that everyone treats each other fairly and becomes their best selves.
While we are a fun afterschool activity for kids, this is not a daycare. We are heavily focused on teaching martial arts so students can improve their mental and physical health and possibly train to compete.
No matter your age or experience, we are here to help you become a better athlete. It can start with our Tigers class to improve motor skills all the way to our teens and adults class, focusing on fitness and overall health.
We have been proud to see our students shine in the martial arts world. Many of them have won world championships and have traveled to compete in Brazil, Argentina, among other places. It is our greatest accomplishment to see our students thrive on and off the mat!
For over a decade our Jonesboro martial arts school has been serving the community. Our commitment has never wavered and we look forward to continuing our service to as many people in Jonesboro and the NEA community as we can!
